Drug Addictions

Drug Addictions

Drug addictions involve a biochemical dependence on a specific substance as a means for achieving a desired effect or “high”.

Due to tolerance, individuals require ever-increasing amounts of that substance overtime in order to achieve the effect that they desire and to keep symptoms of withdrawal at bay.

Continuous drug use often leads to very serious changes in an individual’s body chemistry.

Such changes can
even occur to the point that an individual’s body requires the drug in order to survive.
